The Airport
Siargao Airport (Sayak Airport) is a small, efficient airport that serves as the gateway to this stunning island. There are no direct international flights to Siargao. You can reach it by flying into major hubs such as Manila and Cebu city, then taking a domestic flight. Airlines such as Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, and Skyjet operate these routes.
Once you land, the process is quick. There is no passport control. You can expect to be out of the airport, with your checked baggage, in about 15 minutes.

Environmental Fee
Before you exit the airport, you must pay an environmental fee of PHP 100 per person, as on most Philippine islands. They accept cash only, so be prepared.
Transport to General Luna
Once you exit Siargao Airport, you’ll find two transportation options: a shared van for PHP 300 per person or a private van for PHP 2,500. The prices are fixed, so there’s no need to negotiate. There’s also no need to arrange transport before arrival, as there are plenty of vans ready to take you.
If you choose the shared van, you might need to wait a bit until it fills up, but the wait is usually short. The car ride to General Luna takes approximately 45 minutes. Along the way, you will pass by the Coconut Trees View Deck (also known as Coconut Mountain View), which offers a breathtaking panorama of endless coconut trees stretching across the valley.

Returning to Siargao Airport
For your return trip to Siargao Airport, you have two main options: hiring a private van or taking a tuk-tuk (tricyle). Tuk-tuks can fit two people with two suitcases. Throughout General Luna, tuk-tuks are plentiful and easy to find. You can ask any driver for rates or inquire at your hotel to arrange a private van.
A private van costs between PHP 2,000 and PHP 2,500. We opted for a tuk-tuk and paid PHP 700 for two people. It was the most economical choice and almost as fast as the van.
